The wonderful Waterside Festival partners will be out and about on the day with an engaging and exciting mix of activities.
Arts & Crafts
Let your creative side run free with our numerous arts and crafts activities. Join Queens Park Arts Centre who are offering hands-on waterside wildlife activities using air clay and origami.
Children’s games and activities
Enjoy a range of child-friendly activities including garden games supplied by Buckinghamshire Disability Service (BuDS) and Aylesbury Town Council, a merry-go-round, swing boats, hopscotch and more…
There’s more family-friendly activities than before (both on the land and on the water) thanks to Canal & River Trust and there’s even a pop-up escape room from Vire! So why not gather your friends and family to see if you’ve got what it takes to escape?
Competitions and prize draws
What could make Waterside Festival even better? The chance to win some fantastic prizes of course. Visit Buckinghamshire will be challenging festival-goers to correctly guess the Bucks attraction or landmark for the chance to be entered in to a draw to win a variety of prizes. Aylesbury Vale District Council’s Recycling and Waste team will be out and about with their Munch Monster stickers encouraging festival-goers of all ages to decorate their outdoor food bins and recycle their food waste – and there’s some delicious restaurant vouchers up for grabs for ‘Munch Monster of the month’. There’s a tombola from the Buckinghamshire WI and a raffle from Waitrose too!
Other fantastic opportunities…
We’re very lucky to have such a diverse mix of partners involved in Waterside Festival and the festival is a great chance for each partner to showcase what incredible work they bring to our community. From finding out about the latest courses being offered by Bucks New University, including a fantastic nursing simulation van and backstage tours of the magnificent Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (book here to avoid disappointment) to celebrating Aylesbury’s rich canal heritage with Holy Trinity Church – and everything in between – it’s sure to be an amazing day for all!
